This is a camping staple in our family. We enjoy the tradition of roasting marshmallows for s’mores but this recipe is less messy, easy to serve, and even tastier! Honestly, I’d rather eat this than roasted s’mores any day. You don’t need to pack all the ingredients, roasting sticks, and wipes–just one pan and a spatula. The pan is easy to clean up. The marshmallows and chocolate don’t melt all over your fingers–or kids’ fingers for that matter. Are you ready to try this recipe?
It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
S’mores
- Melt chocolate chips, karo syrup, and butter.
- Stir in vanilla then pour over Golden Grahams.
- Cool slightly before adding marshmallows and pressing into a 9×13 pan.
This recipe is a crowd pleaser, which sadly means it’s gone way too quickly. If we go camping for a weekend, our family of four can snack on this all weekend. However, if we go with friends and family (usually about 20 people), it’s gone before dark the first night!
I usually make this the night before we leave for camping and keep it in a 9×13 glass pan with a lid. No need to refrigerate. I take a small serving spatula and let everyone serve themselves. We all eat this with our hands like traditional s’more but it’s far less messy!
This is my mother-in-law’s recipe. I first tried it when my husband and I went camping with his family while we were dating. I couldn’t believe how addicting it was, I kept going back for another piece! The texture from the marshmallows, and crunch from the cereal make it unforgettable.

Enjoy the taste of s’more anywhere with this easy to make and easy to clean up recipe.
Ingredients
- 11.5 oz Milk Chocolate Chips
- 3/4 cup Karo Syrup
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 11.7 oz Golden Grahams Cereal 1
- 3 cups Mini Marshmallows
Instructions
1. Melt chocolate chips, karo, and butter in medium pan until boiling, stirring constantly.
2. Pour Golden Grahams into a large mixing bowl then add chocolate mixture. Stir until most of the cereal is coated in chocolate.
3. Once the chocolate has cooled slightly, add the marshmallows. NOTE: You can add the marshmallows right after the chocolate, it will just melt quite a bit more into the chocolate.
4. Press mixture into 9×13 pan. No need to spray, I’ve never had a problem with them sticking.
5. Cut and serve whenever you’re ready!
6. OPTIONAL: Top the s’mores with more marshmallows, melted chocolate, or mini chocolate chips!
